We have been asked alot what is a “burl ?”

A burl is an abnormal growth on a tree formed from unsprouted bud tissue. Thats the technical term anyway!

You may have seen them before on a walk or hike through the forest, they look like a large ball growing on a tree. They are saught after for their uniqueness. When some work is put into them, cleaning , sanding, polishing, they can produce a beautiful piece of art!.

We take that very approach to our lifestyle, in which we believe you can take something abnormal, add some hard work and produce something awesome. We celebrate different !! and in doing so , learn other approaches to life circumstances. Hence our motto, “Living Different, by Nature”

We are a family of five from Northern Alberta Canada. Two years ago we decided to sell our home in the city and start living our life as an adventure! We are now living, growing, and learning in nature. We cherish our day to day experiences with the outdoors and would like to share those moments with others, including you! Whether that be through our tiny house build, outdoor photography, our instagram posts, or through our nature/outdoor based apparel.

We are currently in the midst of building our tiny home and having a blast doing so !
